Pola Pembentukan Karakter Kedisiplinan Santri di Pondok Pesantren Aji Mahasiswa Al-Muhsin Krapyak Wetan Yogyakarta
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the patterns of character formation in students’ discipline within the Islamic boarding school context. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The validity of the data was ensured through the application of source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that the development of disciplinary character among student-santri is predominantly driven by the boarding school administrators, who hold a central and strategic role in creating a conducive atmosphere for the internalization of discipline values. This role is manifested through exemplary behavior, direct advice, emotional approaches, habituation in daily routines, gradual implementation of rules, socio-emotional guidance, and the strengthening of spiritual and religious values. Such efforts are not coercive but rather persuasive, encouraging the students to develop discipline voluntarily and with a sense of responsibility.
